Adel Art Group

Adel Art Group is a painting group with a tutor, focusing mainly on watercolour painting, there is also some mixed media. Pastel has become very popular recently. Prospective members are invited to spend an evening with us, free of charge, to see for themselves, the suitability of our group to their needs. Meetings are held at The Old Stables, Adel. Adel Badminton Club

We are looking for new members to join our badminton club. Club night is on Mondays. We have one court and a sports and social club bar. Annual membership fee is £41/year.  Meets on Mondays at Adel War Memorial Association, Church Lane.  Contact no 0113 279 2818, email:

Adel Friday Bridge Club

Adel Friday Bridge Club plays Chicago every Friday at The Memorial Hall, Church Lane, Adel. Play starts at 7:15 and finishes around 10pm. New members and guests are always welcome.


Adel & District Horticultural Society

Adel Ladies' Luncheon Club

Adel Players

The Adel Players Dramatic Society is an organisation which produces 3 full length plays a year (no musicals) and very occasional one act plays. Artybobs

Artybobs is a creative art, craft and messy session for children aged from 12 months to 4 years. Every Tuesday (during term times) from 10-11 am at the Adel and Ireland Wood Community Centre starting January 2009

Painting, Fun Crafts, Playdough, Water Play, Sensory Play, Sand Play, Sing a long and refreshments, Different themed activities every week

Our sessions support the Early Learning Goals of England and enable children to socialise and make friends as well as nurturing their creativity...come along and join in the fun!

Athill Women's Institute

Athill Women's Institute meets on the first Tuesday of each month (except January) at Adel Memorial Hall, Church Lane, at 7.30pm. They have an interesting programme of speakers and an enjoyable social time. Visitors welcome at a charge of just £1. There are 4 new OPAL activities -

New Craft Group meet on the 1st & 3rd Friday of the month at 2pm at the OPAL Office , Holt Park. Come along and be welcomed by Sandra, our new craft teacher. Do you have any art or craft materials lying around your house that you would like to give to a good home?  The OPAL Craft Group will be grateful to have surplus materials.

The Knitting Circle meet at the OPAL Office on the 2nd Wed of the month 2-4pm

New Exercise Class meets on Wednesdays 11.15am for an hour at Adel Stables

S.T.A.R.S.

S.T.A.R.S. is an amateur theatre group based in Adel and committed to providing quality theatre in a variety of styles. They produce two plays a year at the Adel & Ireland Wood Community Centre, New Adel Lane, in June and October and occasionally tour. They meet Mondays and Fridays at 8.00pm. There is also a junior section - StarBurst - which provides an opportunity to a small group, aged from 9 to 18, to participate in an annual pantomime and a Summer School. Yorkshire Countrywomen's Association (Adel Branch)

An organisation that is run for women by women and which offers a varied programme of talks, practical evenings and outings - both day and evening.
