Holt Avenue - David Wilson Homes (Update 18 April 2010)
Written by Cllr Barry Anderson
I refer to the above and am writing to let you know that a Public Inquiry has been arranged to review the appeal from David Wilson Homes for the land north of Holt Avenue.
Planning permission for the “laying out of access roads and the erection of 70 dwellings with garages and landscaping” was originally refused, however, it will now be decided by an Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State for the Environment.
The Public Inquiry will be held from 25th May 2010 at Leeds Civic Hall starting at 10:00 am.
The Inquiry is expected to last 6 days and will sit on the following dates:
25th, 26th, 27th, 28th May and 2nd and 3rd June.
If you are able to attend on any of these days to give moral support to local residents who are going to be speaking in support of the refusal your attendance would be appreciated. Please contact Angela Betts who has volunteered to coordinate the volunteers for attendance at the hearing by email on
Some of you may have received a letter direct from David Wilson Homes outlining some changes they would like to make to their original proposal. I am advised by the Council’s Planning Department that no formal planning application revising the original application has been submitted to date and this matter in respect of the revision will be dealt with in due course.
To date none of the local Councillors have been copied in to the letter received by some local residents, from David Wilson Homes, with the revisions set out.
I trust this keeps you up to date with this matter
